The Secret Door.

Hi there Friends, Followers and Visitors,

It has been a beautiful day here again today, quite sunny but a little chilly.  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend break.   Gosh this year is just flying by so quickly, tomorrow is October !   Christmas will be here before we know it.  Have any of you begun your Christmas shopping yet?  Well as usual, I haven't even given it a thought yet lol!   I always aim to begin early but alas it never happens until the last minute!   then panic sts in ha ha!

Thank you all for your visits and lovely comments on my last card, it really gives me a great deal of encouragement and I do hope you feel inspired to give this lovely hobby a go.   My card tonight is a very quick and simple card to make, as the background is one of Imagination Craft's patterned background cards.

Matt a  6" square of  pink card onto a  white 7" x 7" base card.   Next matt the patterned background card ' Secret Door,' onto the pink matt.

Die-cut 2 corners, both the same from white card using the Tattered Lace corner die and cover  with some Versamark, then heat emboss with gold embossing powder.   Glue one to the top left and the other to the bottom right corners.

Paint the Art Cutz 'Birds on a branch,' with the hot pink Starlight paint and add small amounts of the hibiscus.   Glue the tree branch to the bottom of the card on the left-hand side, using the Art Cutz as a tree rather than a branch.

Stamp 'With sympathy' onto a spare piece of the background card, using the Ultramarine Stazon pad, cut this out and glue onto a piece of pink card and trim around the shape.   Glue this to the top of the card and fix a blue gemstone to each side of the tag.

That's  it finished now, a very quick card to make as you don't have to think about the background lol!      I hope you all have a relaxing, peaceful Sunday.   Take care my friends until my next blog and thanks again for your interest in my blog.   Catch you all again soon.

                                                                 Love and rainbows,

                                                                  Hugs   Jennifer xx.

A Matter of Squares.

Hello Friends, Followers and Visitors,

We've had a lovely day here today,  really warm and some sunshine, just perfect for giving the lawns their last cut!!!  well, I hope so lol!     Had to keep stopping to empty the lawnmower box as the grass was so wet, the mower didn't throw the grass cuttings back into the box, never mind, the lawns are now cut,  the next big job will be the Autumn leaves lol!     We are surrounded by trees which are beautiful but boy, do they create a huge amount of work !!    we do have a leaf blower/sucker but it still takes a lot of time.   Hope you enjoyed your weekend.   Thank you all for your wonderful comments and visits on my last post, much appreciated.

The card I want to share with you now was made for my friend Jane's charity coffee morning.   For this card I have used a set of stamps I have had for many years called Patterns & Petals by Hero Arts.  I also used  a Kaleidacolor Rainbow Dye ink pad - Pastel.

Using a spare piece of white card, stamp the four flowers from the stamp set onto it, using the purple/blue/green end of the rainbow ink pad.

Stamp the same again but this time, using the orange/deep pink/purple end of the ink pad.

Die-cut each of these images using the second smallest die from the die set.   Take some deep purple card and lay the same die onto it and draw around the outer edges of the die, then cut out by hand.   This will make a slightly larger square on which to matt each image.   Repeat the above but this time,  using green card.   Glue the images  to the matts then glue these squares equally onto a 6" x 6"  white scalloped card.

Stamp the 'Friends Always' onto a piece of white card, using a Versamark pad and heat emboss using the purple embossing powder.   Colour this with the inks from the rainbow  ink pad,  using a piece of cut 'n' dry foam.   Fix this to the centre of the base card using sticky foam pads.

Glue an organza ribbon bow to the top left of the sentiment, then glue the purple/white spotted ribbon bow on top of the organza bow.

The 'Friends Always' sentiment stamp was one of a set,  given free with a Craft Magazine, sorry not sure which one lol!    Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you have enjoyed your visit.   Enjoy the rest of your week and I will be back again very soon with another card, made for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Crafts, until then, take care of yourselves.

                                                                 Love and rainbows,

                                                                 Hugs   Jennifer xx,

Butterfly Delight.

Hi there Everyone,

It's me back again with another project.   Thank you all for your visits and lovely comments on my last post, they are very much appreciated.

Tonight I would like to share another card which I have made for my friend Jane's Macmillan Nurses coffee morning this month.   For this card I have used  a beautiful butterfly stamp I have had in my stash for some time and is an Elusive Image stamp.   I have also used Imagination Craft's Starlight paints and  the border only from the Verona Tile stencil.

Lay the Verona Tile stencil onto a piece of white card, having masked off everything except the border.   Stipple the three Starlight paints through the design, using a large stencil brush.   Remove the stencil.   This will dry very quickly.

Matt this onto a slightly larger piece of dark green card, then matt this onto a 7" x 7" white base card.
Using the border stamp (which was given free with a craft magazine, sorry cannot remember which one lol) , stamp around the edge  of the base card, using a black ink pad.

Next stamp the large butterfly from the set onto some white card, using a Versamark  pad and heat emboss with black embossing powder.

Paint the butterfly with watered down Starlight paints, blending the red and gold colours into each other.

Cut out the butterfly, leaving a tiny white border around it.   Glue this onto the base card.   Place some silicone glue under the wings.

Stamp the sentiment in the top right corner of the frame using a black ink pad.   Well that's this card finished, hope you like it.

Hope you all have a good week ahead, not sure about the weather though lol!!!     See you all again soon.   Take care of yourselves.

                                                                Love and rainbows,

                                                                 Hugs   Jennifer xx.

Fairy Moon, Make a Wish Tag.

Hello there,

I'm back again with another project to share with you all but first, I would like to thank you all for your visits and comments on my last project.   I do love to hear what you think of my creations and I do like to visit your blogs to see your projects and beautiful ones they are too lol!!!   O.K. on to my project for tonight.    This was made for a challenge Sue from Imagination Crafts set me some time ago and  was made using their elegant Fairy Moon stencil which I just adore, she is so....pretty..

Cut out a large tag shape from white card.   Colour this with T.H. Distress Inks - Dusty concord, Faded jeans and Stormy sky.   Lay an empty double sided sticky tape cardboard roll onto the tag, hold it down and spray a fine mist of water into the inside of the roll.   Leave this for a moment or two and this should loosen the inks, then dab off the blue ink with a piece of kitchen paper, until all the ink has gone.    Add a few splats of water to the blue sky and dab off with kitchen paper.    Dry  with a heat gun.   Colour the moon with  Scattered straw Distress Ink.

Lay the fairy moon stencil onto the tag, positioning it so the yellow circle will be inside the moon of  the stencil and using the black ink pad, dab the ink through the design on the stencil but not colouring any of the stars.   Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.

Lay the stencil back on the tag in the correct position and spread the Pastel yellow Sparkle Medium through the stars only, using a metal spatula.    Remove stencil and leave stars to dry.

Stamp 'Make a wish' in black ink on the bottom of the tag.   Fix a piece of lace (coloured with the Scattered straw distress ink) to the bottom of the tag, securing on the back of the tag with sticky tape.

Cut a slightly larger tag from cream card and colour the edges with the Scattered straw D.I.   Colour the edges of the smaller blue tag with a little Hickory smoke D.I.   Fix the smaller tag onto the larger cream tag.

Cut out or punch a hole in the top of the tag and thread some gold ribbon and lace, coloured with the Scattered straw D.I, through the hole in the tag and tie.   Tie some lace into a bow and add to the tag.

Make a stand for the back of the tag so it can be stood up if wished.   Well that's this tag finished.   Have a great weekend whatever you have planned.   A quiet one is on the cards for us, so I may get into my craft room hopefully.    Take care of yourselves.

                                                            Love and rainbows,

                                                             Hugs   Jennifer xx.

Believe in the Beauty.

Hi there Followers, Friends and Visitors,

I would like to begin by thanking you for visiting my last post and leaving me some lovely comments.   I really appreciate the time you have taken to visit and comment.   The weather here has not been too bad, it has been dull with showers on and off, where has the sunshine gone I wonder!

Tonight I would like to share a card I made recently for a very good friend.  I have used an Indigo Blu sentiment stamp which I just love.   The gorgeous wee mice stamp is a one I have had in my stash for many years and is a Clarity Stamp.   The dandelion was done using an embossing folder which was given free with a craft magazine (sorry can't remember which one).   Hope you like it.   Let's get started shall we.

Cut out a piece of white card five and a half inches square.   Colour this with the light green, light purple and sunshine Mixed Media Spray Inks by Imagination Crafts.

When dry put the card into the dandelion embossing folder and emboss.   Gently rub the Versamark pad over the raised surface of the dandelion, then heat emboss with the Stampendous aged marine embossing enamel.

Lay the chevron part of the Imagination Craft's  Mixed Media Art Stencil no.MU-17 onto the left-hand side of the coloured card and using some cut 'n' dry foam, dab the Versamark through the design.   Remove the stencil and heat emboss with the Stampendous aged marine embossing enamel.

Lay the Art stencil back onto the card and line up the broken lines on the stencil, along the bottom edge of the card.

Dab the mowed lawn Distress Ink through the broken lines.   Stamp the sentiment onto the card and the mice, using a black ink pad.   Stamp the snail on the bottom of the card.

Add some highlights to the sentiment, snail and the mice, using a white gel pen.

Punch out nine  daisies from white card, using the Woodware daisy stamp.   Glue eight to the card, adding some gold Stickles Glitter Glue to the flower centres.   Half the last daisy and glue one half to the bottom left and  the other to the bottom right edges of the card.

Add tiny touches of the gold Stickles to the dandelion and the seeds.

Add some white dots to the background using the white gel pen, then glue this card to a six inch square, scalloped white base card.   That's it finished my friends.   Enjoy the rest of your week and I'll be back again soon.

                                                               Love and rainbows,

                                                                Hugs   Jennifer xx.

Get Well Orchid Trio Tag.

Hi there my Friends,

Hope you are all looking forward to the weekend, I know I am lol!   hoping to get into  my craft room.   I would like to thank you all for visiting and commenting on my last blog, I really appreciate your visits.

Tonight I would like to share another tag with you, which I made for one of   Imagination Craft's shows on the Hochanda T.V. Channel back in May 2017.

Cut out a large tag shape from pink card.   Cut out a smaller tag from white card and colour it with blue Starlight paint (around the outer edges only) then matt onto the pink tag.

Cut out a further tag, smaller again smaller  than the blue edged tag and paint with the Duck egg Rusty Patina.   This adds a little texture to the tag.

Paint a piece of bubblewrap with the Clover MDF paint and dab it over the duck egg, then use some white Gesso on the bubblewrap and  dab over the tag randomly.   Leave image to dry.

Lay the orchid trio  stencil onto the coloured  tag and spread the teal and gold shine Sparkle Mediums over the design, using the metal spatula.   Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.

Cut out two yellow butterflies from the rice paper and using decoupage glue, stick the butterflies on to some white card.   When dry, cut out the butterflies, trimming away any spare white card around the image.   Paint the wings with a well watered down white gold Starlight Paint, (just enough to give a delicate shimmer to the wings.   Glue the butterflies to the tag and glue the tag to the large pink tag.

Stamp 'Get Well' onto some white card using a black ink pad.   Cut this out and fix to the tag, using sticky foam pads.

Add a small amount of silicone glue under each of the butterfly wings.

Punch a hole in the top of the tag and thread some gold ribbon through it.

Make a stand and fix to the back of the tag, so it can be stood up if wished.

That's all from me for the moment, have a great weekend and I will be back again very soon.   Take care of yourselves and thanks again for visiting.

                                                                Love and rainbows,

                                                                  Hugs   Jennifer xx.

Good Friends.

Good evening All,

Apologies for not blogging for a few days as I've been rather busy recently but I'm back again.   Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last blog, I do appreciate the time you have taken to read my blog and comment.

Tonight I have another card which I have made for my friend Jane's charity coffee morning this month.   I have used a beautiful stamp from Clarity Stamps, which I have had in my crafty stash for some years but it is just such a cute design.   I have also used some Imagination Craft's Starlight paint and Mixed Media Spray Inks.   I hope you like this one and it cheers everyone up after all this dull, dreary wet weather we are having at the moment.   I also hope my friends and followers in the U.S.A. are safe and well after hurricane Irma created havoc, my heart goes out to all those people who have suffered.   Mother Nature can be  formidable at times.

Well let's get started shall we.   Cut a square of white card 5"x5."   Colour this with the light blue, light green and Sunshine Mixed Media Spray Inks, beginning with the blue at the top, blending in some green,  then yellow at the bottom, blending the colours into each other, giving yellow for the sand, light green for the sea, blending into blue for the sky.   Add a little yellow to the top.

Take a tiny amount of the Silver/Gold Starlight paint and water it down, then brush lightly over the yellow sand.

When dry, stamp  the boy/girl image where the sand meets the sea, using a black ink pad.

Paint the sun in the top right corner, dry brushing the rays of the sun, using the Silver/Gold Starlight paint.

Colour a piece of card with the Weathered Wood Distress Ink, then with a thin, watered down layer of the Silver/Gold Starlight paint.

When this is dry, die-cut the shells and starfish from it, using the Marianne set of dies.   Glue these to the sand using silicone glue.

Stamp the sentiment in the top left-hand corner using a black ink pad.   Add little highlights to the children and the sea in the circle, using a white pen.   Matt this onto a black matt and then onto the base card.

For this card I didn't want to make a seaside scene, I just wanted to give the impression of a scene by using the appropriate colours, as the focal point is the children in the circle, I do hope it has worked.

That's all from me for now, enjoy the rest of your week and I will be back again quite soon.   Thanks once again for visiting my blog.   Take care of yourselves.

                                                                   Love and rainbows,

                                                              Crafty Hugs,  Jennifer xx.
